Torture?

Lots of people are talking about the supossed torture of terrorists right now. Was it torture? Did we get any useful information from it? Isn't it just awful what we did to those poor 'enemy combatants'?

Ok, first let's look at two of the methods that were used. Waterboarding-- ok, so it scares the living bat crap out of them. Doesn't kill them, doesn't put them at risk for drowning or dying. Doesn't even cause any bodily harm. So... technically, it's not torture. The other more infamous one is sleep deprevation, usually from playing loud music day and night. I remember this technique from the Waco incident. Again, doesn't kill them, doesn't put any bodily harm to anyone. But evidently it's not torture when used AGAINST OUR OWN CITIZENS, but is WHEN USED AGAINST PEOPLE THAT WANT TO BLOW US UP. Wow, talk about a double-standard.

Now let's look at the results. Has there been another terror attack on American soil. Well, um, gee, NO. Seems to be working pretty damned good, if you ask me. And those enemy combatants? Well, they don't work for another country, and they don't wear a military uniform. Why is that? BECAUSE THEY AREN'T ANYTHING OTHER THAN TERRORISTS. No amount of sugar-coating will make them something they aren't. They hate our country and our freedoms and would love fo us to go soft so they can destroy us. Obama seems to be doing a great job giving into them already, what with his plans to shut down Gitmo, cozy up to radical leaders and tax us into oblivion.

And with everyone focused on this issue, it pulls our attention away from the important things, like Obama passing all of these spending bills and literally printing money from NOTHING. My son isn't two years old, and will be paying higher and higher taxes to help pay off a debt he has nothing to do with. Our government knows we aren't happy with them right now, so they are trying to wave this report about torture about, saying, "Hey, look over here!" so that we get distracted and can't see what the left hand is doing when the right hand isn't paying attention. And it seems to be working, because everywhere you turn in the media they are talking about this report that shows the world our techniques but not the results.

Here's the real news, via song. This is Shutting Detroit Down by John Rich. I want everyoen to have a chance to hear and see the music video. It struck me as being real and how many of us are feeling these days, and what is really going on when we aren't looking.

Since I can't trust the Abilene Distorter News to give out the correct news in an unbaised manner, this section is on hold until I find a more reliable source.

Videos of the Week: CNN Reporter Gets Her Cummuffins; George Carlin

Remember the CNN reporter that was so rude to that guy holding his baby in Chicago? It looks like she got some payback after her camera was turned off:

Now I loved George Carlin. He was a halarious guy. And he said something very interesting once. He said that if facism ever came to the United States, it would come here with a smiley face. So in honour of his smarts and his funnies, here's some clips of good old Carlin. These clips are not safe for children to view, and probably should not be watched while at work, folks!
